Frankie Goes to Hollywood came from Liverpool in 1980. The group of five emerged from the 70s punk scene to record their New Wave synth-pop music. One of these songs, Relax, reached a high chart position, then was banned by the BBC radio for its content matter, which propelled it straight to the top of the charts. Two more singles, in succession, had Frankie Goes to Hollywood reach the top spot twice more.
