Metallica
The Big Four of thrash metal bands include Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax and Metallica. Metallica, formed in 1981, has been more mainstream friendly than the former three, with several successful ballads (The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters), presence on MTV (One, Wherever I May Roam) and a well spoken, good mannered drummer (Lars Ulrich).
